Bird Watching
The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, one of the most important birding habitat networks in North America, has 7 sites on Lake Texana. It offers bird watchers excellent opportunities to observe birds intersecting along two major migration flyways. The Park’s elevated gazebo is also a great spot for bird watching.
Information on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail is available at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Office (361-782-7146). Additional information on the Birding Trails of Texas is available from Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, 4200 Smith School Road, Austin, TX 78744-3291, 800-792-1112.
