EDNA, TX – Get ready for a weekend full of food, fun, and community spirit at the 24th Annual Texana Chili Spill, happening November 6th–8th at the Brackenridge Main Event Center. This annual event is proudly presented by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA) and the Jackson County Go-Texan Committee.
The festivities kick off on Thursday, November 6th at 5:00 p.m. with the Veterans Ceremony and Appreciation Dinner, sponsored by H-E-B. All veterans, active military members, and their immediate families are invited to attend this special evening honoring those who serve. A fireworks display, sponsored by Whataburger, will light up the sky following the ceremony.
Cook-off competitions begin on Friday, November 7th, featuring the crowd favorites — Salsa and Margarita Competitions — along with the Chef’s Choice, Sausage, and Go-Texan Dutch Oven Dessert contests. From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., guests can unwind in the Wine & Beer Garden with beverages from Lavaca Bluffs Winery and The Beer Ranch and enjoy live acoustic entertainment from Chris Zuber.
The fun continues Saturday, November 8th, with a full day of activities for all ages! Cook-off action kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the Bloody Mary Competition, followed by Beans, Go-Texan Jackpot Chicken, Gumbo, Go-Texan Jackpot Ribs, Chili, and Go-Texan Brisket contests — plus the always-popular KidsQue Competition.
The Jackson County Go-Texan Committee’s 1st place Brisket Champion will take home $3,500 in cash, with the option to enter the Top Gun Jackpot for even more prize money.
The Wine & Beer Garden will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., spotlighting local artists all day long! The Saturday entertainment lineup includes:
- 1:00–4:00 p.m. – Jaron & Ashley Post
- 4:00–7:00 p.m. – Philip Griffin
- 7:00–11:00 p.m. – Stephanie Ross
Grab a bite from one of the many food vendors, relax with your favorite beverage, and enjoy a day of great music and local flavor.
Also returning this year is the Cornhole Jackpot Tournament! Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and play starts at 10:00 a.m. on the cook-pad near the stage. Entry forms and tournament details can be found at on our website!
Visitors can also browse the Texana Market, enjoy Helicopter Rides, and bring the kids to the FREE Kids Zone (all open 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) featuring inflatables, crafts, face painting, nature exhibits, and more.
At 5:30 p.m., spice lovers can test their limits in the Texana Heat Jalapeño Eating Contest—it’s free to enter but limited to 12 participants. Sign-up will take place inside the judging tent.
Admission is just $5.00 per person (ages 3 and up) and includes access to all event areas, live music, and kids’ activities.
