Calling all campers!! Since the unfortunate but necessary cancellation of the Spooktacular Trail & Carnival event. Our BRC staff put their heads together and looked at what parts of the event can we offer while still ensuring the safety of our BRC guests and staff on the weekend of October 24th. Here is what we have planned EXCLUSIVELY for our BRC campground guests! We think it can still be a fun weekend for you and your family!! See below for activity details…
Saturday, October 24th
- Pumpkin Carved/Decorated Contest: Drop off your decorated and/or carved pumpkin to the Texana Park Pavilion between 4:30pm - 5:00 pm to be entered in our Decorated/Carved Pumpkin Contest! The Contest judging will be done that evening and the winners will be notified via telephone. The winning pumpkins will be delivered back to their campsite Saturday evening during the “Reverse Trick-or-Treating”, so that a photo can be taken with the winner. All other pumpkins can be picked up on Sunday, at the Pavilion.
- Reverse Trick-or-Treating: What in the world is “Reverse Trick-or-Treating”?! Well, it’s where WE come to YOU! At 7:00 pm our BRC staff will “dress up”, hop on hayrides and start safely delivering bags of Halloween candy to each site with children! We will start at the cabins and then make our way thru each campground. Families wishing to participate will need to notify the park office at check-in how many children will be at their site, so we have an accurate count. Children are encouraged to “dress up” but it is certainly not required! Now for the hard part that evening...kiddos will have to WAIT patiently at their campsite for the delivery of their bag of Halloween candy! The BRC staff would like to thank H-E-B for sponsoring this NEW activity for our park guests!
- The Best Decorated Campsite or Cabin: Park guests are encouraged to decorate their site for the weekend. The most original and creative campsites and cabins can win some great prizes! There will be 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners for Best Decorated Campsite or Cabin at each park; Texana and Brackenridge. Judging will take place during the “Reverse Trick-or-Treating” as the BRC staff is passing out candy! Winners will be notified via telephone.
*HEB’s Pumpkin Patch will be returning to the Texana Park Pavilion! The Pumpkin Patch will be open starting Thursday, October 22nd thru October 31st. Decorated with a rustic fence, lots of pumpkins, hay bales and festive décor make it the perfect place to get your family together for a photograph during your stay. The Pumpkin Patch is FREE and will be open to the public during Texana Park Office Hours: Mon.- Fri. 8am-5pm, Sat. - Sun. 8am-4PM. Visitors will need to stop at the park office and grab a pumpkin patch pass!
So don’t delay! Make your reservation today for a fun but safe Spooktacular weekend!! To make your reservation or for additional information, feel free to contact either park office:
