BRC Nature Camps

Session 3:
July 16-19

Session 1 and Session 2 are available to kids ages 8-12.
Session 3 is limited to kids ages 9-12.
There will only be 10 spots available for each camp session

Experience and learn about the outdoors and nature through a four day program conducted by Ranger Cindy at the BRC Nature Center in Texana Park. There will only be 10 spots available for each camp session. Camp registration is only $100.00 per participant. Register today!

Registration forms should be submitted to the Brackenridge Park Office located at 891 Brackenridge Pkwy. Edna. Spots are only reserved once COMPLETE Registration Form and fees are received. Confirmation letters will be mailed after the Registration Form is processed. For more information please contact the park office at 361-782-5456.

Nature Camp 101................June 11-14

This camp is designed as an introduction to camping and the outdoors. Our campers will learn the basics of fishing, canoeing, birding along with experiencing all types of outdoor activities like Geocaching and insect collecting.Children who sign up for Nature Camp will have the opportunity to meet new friends and learn from the experts about wildlife, Native Americans, angler education and so much more! The Bay City Nature Center will also host our campers for a fun field trip during this session! This session is available to kids ages 8-12.

Fishing Camp......June 25-28; THIS CAMP IS FULL!

Campers will be able to experience a week full of fishing and water based fun and learning experiences. From casting to tying lines, campers will learn the basics of different types of freshwater and saltwater fishing. Campers will also explore the types of fish and other organisms in Lake Texana while learning about water quality. They will learn to fly fish, become a JR Angler, use a GPS, tie knots and of course fish! The Campers will also take a trip to Indianola Pier to attend a Salt Water Clinic and visit Magnolia Beach before camp ends! This session is available to kids ages 8-12.

Outdoor Skills Camp, July 16-19; THIS CAMP IS FULL!

This camp is designed to teach the keys to survival outdoors. Our campers will have a week of adventure based programs that develop outdoor living skills while exploring and learning about nature. Campers will learn to navigate the great outdoors, set up tents, go Geocaching, fishing, canoeing, and hiking. Outdoor Skills Camp will have guest speakers on Gun Safety, Leave No Trace, and Wildlife Rehabilitation. The Campers will end their week with a trip to the Matagorda Nature Center Kayaking Trail! This session is limited to kids ages 9-12.
