Day Use Areas

Can't join us for a weekend camping? You can enjoy all the Brackenridge Recreation Complex has to offer by visiting one of our day use areas. With plenty of amenities, these areas are great for a family picnic and to enjoy a little fresh air. Join us for an hour or the whole day!

Texana Park

*The Day Use area at Texana Park will be closed from 10/19/21 to 10/25/21 while we are preparing the area and setting up for our Spooktacular Event that will take place on October 23, 2021!



The day use area in Texana Park and Campground is situated on the lake cove. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills for guests to enjoy. Open grassy areas are perfect for a friendly game of freeze tag or football. The day use area also has a playground complete with a tire swing. The Pavilion, Nature Center and two comfort stations are also conveniently located in this area. There is a $5.00 day pass fee per vehicle to access this day use area.

Main Event Center Pond

The Brackenridge Recreation Complex Pond is located behind the Main Event Center It is open daily and is free to the public. This 8 acre pond had two fishing piers and is stocked with blue gill perch, red ear perch, and large mouth bass for catch and release only. Picnic tables, a playground and comfort station are also located at the Pond.

Hwy 111 Day Use Area

The Day Use Area is located along State Highway 111 just past the Brackenridge Recreation Complex entrance and is free to the public. It offers five covered picnic tables (one is handicap accessible), bar-b-que grills, a basketball court, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pitching area, a playground, and bird observation station. This area is closed daily 30 minutes before sunset. Rules for use are available at the Brackenridge Park office.
